We oppose the trafficking of all people for purposes of sexual exploitation and forced labor. Human trafficking is modern-day slavery. At all times, it is slavery at its core. With 50 million victims worldwide, there are more slaves today than at any other time in history. The Caldwell Dominicans have taken a Corporate Stance against Trafficking against this evil in society and strive to work to educate, advocate and assist those victimized by such practices. The categories of human trafficking include child labor, domestic servitude, forced labor, bonded labor, forced marriage and sex trafficking. Due to easy internet access and social media, it has become a rapidly growing criminal industry second only to drug dealing and equal in scope to arms dealing. Human trafficking involves the use of force, fraud and/or coercion for the purpose of sexual exploitation or forced labor. Contrary to popular belief, under federal and state law, human trafficking does not require movement of people across borders.
