On October 23rd, a number of our sisters and associates joined others at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Morristown to hear Sister Simone Campbell personally deliver the message that our country’s leaders must be held accountable for last year’s tax bill and for attempts to dismantle the Affordable Care Act.
Sister Simone, accompanied by several other sisters, is currently traveling from California to President Trump’s Mar-a-Largo estate in Florida ahead of the 2018 midterm elections “to focus on reasonable revenue for responsible programs.”
After dinner and introductions, Sister Simone and Sister Richelle Friedman participated in a conversation with Zac Davis and Ashley McKinless for a Jesuitical Podcast for America Media. After the podcast, everyone present was invited to sign the Nuns on the Bus tour bus.
[Nuns on the Bus is a project of NETWORK Lobby for Catholic Social Justice and NETWORK Advocates for Catholic Social Justice. NETWORK was founded in 1971 by Catholic sisters to educate, organize and lobby for economic and social transformation.]
