Sister Patricia Hogan, OP, has devoted 65 years to ministry as a Caldwell Dominican Sister, beginning her journey on September 8, 1959. After completing her Bachelor of Arts in English with an elementary education minor at Caldwell University, she furthered her studies at Villanova University, earning a Master of Arts in elementary administration and supervision.
Sister Patricia’s early years in education saw her teaching at St. Aedan School in Jersey City and St. Ann School in Newark. Her commitment to shaping young minds then led her to become principal at St. Ann School, where she served for six years. However, it was her long tenure as principal at Our Lady Help of Christians in East Orange that truly marked her legacy. For forty years, Sister Patricia worked tirelessly to nurture and guide generations of students, fostering a school environment rooted in faith, discipline, and academic excellence. Her work at Our Lady Help of Christians was characterized by dedication and service, earning her the admiration and respect of both students and faculty.
In addition to her extensive work in education, Sister Patricia has served as a pastoral minister at Holy Spirit/Our Lady Help of Christians Parish for the past four years, continuing her ministry of service and care to the parish community.
Sister Patricia’s legacy of leadership in education and pastoral care stands as a testament to her unwavering commitment to both her students and the mission of the Church. Her profound influence continues to inspire all who were fortunate to be part of her ministry.
