Sister Danelle McCarthy, OP, will celebrate her 70th year as a Caldwell Dominican in 2024. Though she has retired from serving as the community’s justice promoter, Sister Danelle continues to advocate for the downtrodden, calls for peace to end conflicts of war and violence, addresses the incarceration of persons seeking asylum in the United States, and publicly demonstrates in protests for social justice causes.
On this day of fasting, penance, and prayer for peace, we unite in prayer with the global community, believing that our combined efforts can serve as a positive force, capable of inspiring change in people's hearts and guiding the world towards a path of peace.
The Sisters of Saint Dominic of Caldwell wholeheartedly support Cardinal Tobin’s statement on the Middle East conflict: “Let us join with our sisters and brothers in the Holy Land and throughout the world in fervent, heartfelt prayer for peace, justice and reconciliation. Let us work tirelessly to make peace with justice a reality in our hearts, our communities, and among all nations and peoples.” Today, we, along with members of the International Union of Superiors General (UISG), answer the call of the Bishops of the Holy Land for a day of fasting and prayer dedicated to peace and reconciliation.
