Sunday, September 15th, was a joyful day as three new Associates were welcomed into the Caldwell Dominican family! At a prayerful and beautiful ceremony held in the chapel of St. Catherine’s Convent, Jacqueline Alworth, Kathleen Reilly, and Christine Szeluga were inducted as Associates and welcomed with open arms, surrounded by family, friends, Sisters and fellow Associates. Sister Patricia Wormann preached on a reading from Ephesians in which she challenged all those in attendance to live a life of unity with God and one another in spite of the many issues that surround us in today’s world. She also encouraged the new Associates to live out the final words of St. Dominic: “have charity for one another, guard humility, make your treasure out of voluntary poverty.” Our Prioress, Sister Patrice Werner, also provided wonderful words of welcome and blessings for the new Associates on behalf of the Dominican Sisters of Caldwell.
Along with the new Associates being welcomed into the community, the current Associates who were present also recommitted to following in the ways of Dominic and Catherine and to living out the charism and mission of the Order of Preachers in their daily lives.
The special day closed with good food, fellowship, and laughter at a reception in the Motherhouse dining room. Welcome Jacqueline, Kathleen, and Christine to the Caldwell Dominican Associate family!
