Sister Margaret Charles De Rosa died peacefully on April 2 at St. Catherine Convent and Healthcare Facility after a short illness. Sister had been a resident of St. Catherine Convent since 2006.

A native of Newark, Sister entered the Caldwell Dominican Congregation in 1947.  She received the B.A. degree from Caldwell College and applied her education as a dedicated primary school teacher for most of her years in ministry. Sister taught in the parochial schools of the Archdiocese of Newark, the Diocese of Paterson and the Diocese of Mobile. She also gave a total of ten years of generous service in patient care at St. Catherine’s Convent and Healthcare Facility. Immediately prior to her retirement she served as librarian at St. Paul the Apostle School, Irvington from 1992 to 2006.

During her retirement years at St. Catherine’s Sister Margaret Charles continued a ministry of prayer and cheerful presence among the sisters and visitors to St. Catherine Convent. Her generous spirit of sharing will be greatly missed.
