SISTER ROSE MARTIN PING, OP

Sister Rose Martin Ping, OP died peacefully at St. Catherine Convent and Healthcare Center on Saturday, October 18 surrounded by her family. Having achieved a Master’s degree in American and Asian history from Seton Hall University, Sister Rose Martin enjoyed a distinguished career as a teacher of history and social studies, first at St. Mary’s High School in Rutherford and subsequently at Mt. St. Dominic Academy, Paul VI High School, and Caldwell College.  Her administrative experience included serving as assistant principal at Aquinas Academy in Livingston. During her retirement years Sister volunteered as an aide at Mt. St. Dominic Library.

During her 68 years of Dominican life Sister Rose Martin was known as an avid reader, a great story teller and was always prepared to share the latest family photo!. She will be missed especially by her sisters at St. Catherine’s Convent and by her devoted family.
