Corporate Stance on Non-Violence

The Sisters of St. Dominic of Caldwell, NJ pledge to support the Violence-Free Zone adopted by the LCWR and supported by our Chapter in 1995. 

Therefore, we will strive to insure that:

• There will be no violence against any person – young or old; woman, man or child; no abuse, physical or verbal, based on race, creed, age, gender, or sexual orientation.

• We will speak out against the use and glorification of violence in the media and in all areas of our culture.

• We will try to protect victims of violence, and commit ourselves to non-violent resolution of conflict.

• We will be voices for peace among nations, voices for reform of any government, any organization or institution whose practices do violence either to groups or to individuals.

• We will work to eradicate violence against the Earth, to instill respect and love for our planet, for its bounteous resources, and for all its creatures.

• We commit ourselves to implement this pledge to the best of our ability in our personal lives, our homes, our places of ministry and in our institutions as we work toward a more peaceful, just, and sustainable world.
