Celebrating a Faithful Journey Fundraising Challenge
Founded on December 16, 1881, the Sisters of Saint Dominic of Caldwell are celebrating their 140th anniversary. Celebrating a Faithful Journey, a gala event to commemorate our memories and mission, and to which you would have been invited, was scheduled for December 15, 2021. Due to the continued uncertainties surrounding COVID-19, it had to be cancelled.
However, this milestone anniversary remains a cause to look back at what the congregation has accomplished over 140 years and a reason to look forward to what is still to come!
Our mission to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ is carried out in countless ways. Though education has always been a primary ministry, over the years our ministries have become more diverse as new needs arose. Our Sisters serve God’s people in: healthcare and pastoral care in various settings, parish ministry, social services to the poor, spiritual direction and retreats, the arts, advocacy for justice, efforts to end human trafficking and the abuse of women and children, and the care of creation.
The universal need for spreading Christ’s Word is as great today as it was in the 13th century founding of the Dominican Order by St. Dominic de Guzman.
Our goal for this fund raising event is to raise $140,000 in honor of the 140th anniversary of our congregation. Thanks to a generous donor, from now until December 31st, a total of $70,000 in gifts will be matched! What a wonderful opportunity to increase the impact of your donation.
It is through your gifts of prayer, time and treasure shared with us, you, our friends and benefactors have made it possible for us to continue to work on bringing the Gospel to life. We are so grateful that you accompany us on our journey.
Won’t you help us as we continue to carry out Saint Dominic’s legacy “to praise, to bless and to preach?”
