A gathering of former and present members of the Dominican Sisters of Caldwell was held on September 21st. The event was organized by the core team of the former members' committee. Over 55 women attended this fall's reunion, which was held in the Motherhouse. The day started with a prayer in the chapel followed by a PowerPoint presentation that included photos of women whose shoulders we stand on—women who have gone before us, who mentored us and served as examples. Pictures of the “good old days” followed, including white habits, “guitar-playing sisters,” and “visiting Sunday” gatherings. Many pictures invoked tears and laughter as people transitioned to lay clothes, new ministries, and even a new lifestyle. Memories were stirred when photos of past leaders appeared on the screen. Everyone presented was visibly engaged when pictures of past reunions were shown and they saw themselves on the screen. The day finished with lunch, sharing of memories, catching up with each other, and a promise to get together next year. Pictures from the event can be seen here.
