On March 19th, Caldwell University honored the legacy of the Sisters of Saint Dominic of Caldwell, who established Caldwell College in 1939 as a Catholic liberal arts college dedicated to education, service, and faith. From its founding under Mother M. Joseph Dunn, OP, to welcoming its first full-time male students in 1986, the university’s history is one of breaking barriers and expanding opportunities.
Students, faculty, and staff marked the occasion with a beautiful Founder's Day Mass, celebrated by Reverend James Manos, where the Dominican Blessing and Dominican Magnificat echoed the school’s deep-rooted heritage. Dr. Marie Mullaney offered a thoughtful reflection, and members of the campus community were recognized for their dedication to service.
Of course, no celebration is complete without cake! University President Jeffrey Senese and Prioress Luella Ramm, OP, joined in the tradition, cutting the cake at the reception—a sweet reminder of the bonds that unite us in our Dominican mission.
“May God Creator bless you. May God Redeemer heal you, and may God the Holy Spirit fill you with light.”
