Abaco Assistance Fund

The Abaco Assistance Fund has been set up to aid in the education of students in Marsh Harbour, Bahamas, at St. Francis de Sales School where the Dominicans of Caldwell served from 1969 to 1995. Prior to Hurricane Dorian, the school was attended by 360 students from preschool through twelfth grade under the auspices of the Archdiocese of Nassau. 

In addition to assisting with the overwhelming needs at St. Francis de Sales School, Caldwell Dominicans hope to aid the students in Every Child Counts School, a school for special needs children and adults. This school was founded by Lyn Major (Caldwell University ’68), a Dominican volunteer at St. Francis de Sales School and recent recipient of Caldwell University’s Veritas Award. This school is housed in the original convent.

The Abaco Assistance Fund will also assist families to restore their lives on the island of Abaco.
